i am not a completist so don't even have this record though eventually i will get all of them...i do remember hearing it back in the day...i find it so interesting that some really love, & some really dislike this record...
i recall that decade being brutally disorienting for those of us who played or loved acoustic music (which up to that point i guess joni was mostly doing whether it was folk, pop or jazz)... i spite of a lot of stuff i didn't like, there was some music that i love to this day from that decade...i say hooray to joni for experimenting with it cuz that is the nature of art & you never what you got til you put it out there... ps...i too tried getting a perm...what a disaster for me... www.katebennett.com "Lyrically, it's a work of art overall.
