here in the usa (or at least ca) a valet is someone who parks car at a restaurant or party...its pretty common, nothing fancy...one of my first temp summer jobs was parking cars at a nj shore restaurant...beware of valet parkers if you have a fancy car...i know a few young men i worked with who took some cool cars for a test drive...
>AS to the word Valet...... I prefer manservant or maid...... its much easier and avoids that wrong emphasis on either syllable. is it Va-lay or Val-ay. Alternatively fill your mouth with grapes (plums are just far too large) and try to speak... as a child i remember sitting around the kitchen table seeing how many grapes we could stuff in our mouths & still talk...:~} >I would love to know how many of you tried this.......Valet for me means the guy who cleans your car with a steam cleaner< www.katebennett.com <http://www.katebennett.com> "Lyrically, it's a work of art overall. Brilliant writing, absolutely." Indie-music.com
