Not so much with 5.3 - but I had some of those issues with 5.2... most likely it's due to the addition of some security feature - check the disable_functions and other directives like that.
Or more simply it's actually locking the user to the apache instance... file ownership might be better handled finally. All in all I'm not 100% sure - but that's my normal starts with the 5.2 and 5.3 versions. -- Dan Horning American Digital Services - Where you are only limited by imagination. dan.horn...@planetnoc.com :: http://www.americandigitalservices.com 1-518-444-0213 x502 . toll free 1-800-863-3854 . fax 1-888-474-6133 15 Third Street, PO Box 746, Troy, NY 12180 (by appointment only) -----Original Message----- From: joomla-boun...@lists.nyphp.org [mailto:joomla-boun...@lists.nyphp.org] On Behalf Of Hans Zaunere Sent: Wednesday, April 29, 2009 3:45 PM To: joomla@lists.nyphp.org Subject: [joomla] PHP 5.3 and Joomla Hello, I've upgraded a dev. server to 5.3 and it's severely broken Joomla. While I've turned off all the obvious errors, there are things that just don't work (like certain docman templates not showing up). I'm investigating as to if the problem is fixable, but has anyone tackled this before? H _______________________________________________ New York PHP SIG: Joomla!
