I was wondering what people use for user profiles these days.
Back with Joomla 1.0 I used Community Builder and it was great. However, as Joomla has advanced, I was more and more turned off from Community Builder because CB maintains compatibility with Joomla 1.0, Mambo, and 1.5 - as such they re-implement a lot of features that are in Joomla 1.5 and now 1.6 because the other platforms did not have those features.
In the end, it just gets too confusing where CB is overriding Joomla and where it is working with Joomla.
I recently went a looked at CB again and see that it's features have advanced greatly...but it still has that cross platform issue.
JomSocial is another possibility, but it also suffers from waaaay to many features.
Are there any simple user profile components for Joomla? Ones that only deal with user registration/profile and don't try to do thousands of other little things?
