We may understand this, the biggest problem is the paying client.
They do not get it.
I had clients who wanted to update to 1.7 from 1.5.
Now they want to know where 2.0 is.
Why re-invent methods.
The odd-even works.
ie 2.0 is unstable, 2.1 is stable.
Easy to explain, easy to remember.

1.6 and 1.7 were transitional versions to 1.8.
1.8 is now being called 2.5 because the numbering was off since
1.5 which should have been 2.0.
