Subject: [joomla] Change the domain name?

I need to move a joomla site from one hosting server to another hosting account
AND in the process, I need to change the domain name of the website.

Luckily, both hosting services use cpanel interface, which makes it easy to move the
site...however, how do I change the domain name.? I thought there would be something
in the config.php file, but I don't see it..

?
Thanks!

Janet Sullivan

Live site in configuration.php may be important to you in certain shared hosting situations.
You may have to change references to the domain name throughout the site - articles, modules, etc. If it is a small site, you may want to do it manually. If it is a large site, you can use phpmyadmin, export the entire database as SQL text , and do a search/replace for the old domain name / new domain name. Then you can import the whole thing again replacing the original database (keep a safe backup copy of the original)
Also, check in the configuration area of the control panel for any changes you might like to make (administrative contact)
