curl is an extension, you need to make sure that your host has it. http_request does what you need in an easier fashion. But curl is faster (because it's written in C). And you can't show the user the page, you can only show him the result, if you don't to manipulate the post with details that the user can't see you can user Javascript, otherwise, you can't :)
