Hi Dan,

Here are some responses to what you wrote:

I disagree with you on the local associations not have clear-cut
goals. I think all the associations have things they want to do.
What seems to be the problem is that we commandos have not all
joined our hands together to make things happen.

Here in Abuja, we had visited the Alma mater twice to present
our gifts during the Speech and Prize-giving day. We had
end-of-year parties and some sort of direction.

Of course problems arose when the 25th Anniversary Celebration
came up which I won't go into right now. But I think everyone in
Abuja now knows that it is always easier to destroy than to
build something.

I don't think this list is "dead".
I think it lacks solid, serious, developmental discussions.

What I think happens is that the new ppl that sometime get added
start sending out "Hey how U de?" posts because they are excited
to find other of their set mates. Which is ok.

We need more serious talk.

I don't know of any sub-site. But, i agree that there should
only be ONE main Commando web site.

I am now wary of any one-man-show site as we had in
www.commandjos.com I don't think I will support any such sites
because of the loss of control we will have.

I suggest a web sub-group comprising of Commando web designers.

They will own our site and do all the updates necessary.
Unfortunately, all the Commandos I have asked to volunteer their
services are all giving excuses. I wonder...

I remember this issue. I also remember sending an email to the
fellow volunteering to help make the connections with the school
authorities (back then I had good links with some of the key
Staff like the Commandant and Mrs. Falade).

But the fellow never bothered to reply.

I think he was just thinking out loud. If he wants action, he
write officially and someone will take the letter to the school.
Of course you know that any major project will need some higher
approvals from Nigerian Army Education Corps.

I don't how life is in the UK, but I think the Guys there can
organise themselves. It just takes commitment. And someone has
to burn some money. Who will bell the cat?

But then, who am I to tell them what to do?

I think everything depends on having strong local chapters.
Without these chapters we can do nothing. I said it back then
when the 25th Anniversary was around the corner and there was a
"rush" for National positions.

Today, where are we?

We have to go back to the basics, the foundation. Start our
local chapters.

stay blessed,
