Taiwo's argument though well articulated is not in my opinion quite valid - to refuse to be ingenious just because someone else is perceived to have the "comparative advantage" when in truth that someone got "there" by challenging whoever was before him and is constantly seeking to improve upon his own achievements is clearly not the key to both attain and remain at the helm of technological relevance. The Chinese in recent years have just been proving this point! If you want to seek examples elsewhere the Indians and lately Malays would suffice. Why not us and why not a Commando? When someone took on the challenge to create the first web page for CSSJ, we were all proud of him - that should have marked the beginning of a pace setting agenda for the others of our ranking. We are still glossing over what happened. It's to our collective shame that we allowed that initiative to "die". I know talents from our noble institution abound out there and I implore you all to take on the challenge to revive that initiative once again. Face book was actually a college students pet project - incorporating features they thought would make for a unique web page that could also serve as a rallying point for their alumni! Well you know the rest - they're even offering to teach others how to get started! David set out to war against Goliath in a unique fashion - he actually became ingenious with his unconventional weaponry and daring faith. He is a success story today only because he wouldn't be cowed by an uncircumcised philistine! It's OK if others have been to the moon before us, but when our own flag is one of those planted there, we make ourselves members of this exclusive club of achievers! And why not? Lets join hands in hand to make our alumni one to always be proud of. If anyone is touched to take on this challenge, just let the rest of us know how we may be partners together - your feeble attempt may actually bring in to the world a new concept - give it a go! - That's a command too!
