Subject: Re: A MUST READ! Re: [Jos Commandos] The State of Command Jos

My fellow Cojosa,

I believe these discussions here are part of the Aims & Objectives of our
adopted constitution, especially No.4 below. We have saddled the Exco's to draw
up a plan that we can all collectively pursue and I believe we should give them
the opportunity to direct our progression. If they say we should repaint the
whole school next year, sobeit! if they want us to replace all the boilers in
the dinning hall to ensure better hygiene fine, but pls channel your ideas thru
your state chapters. At least let this fuel burning in you compel u to start
attending meetings wherever u are. I think we should learn to respect
constituted authority and give them our full support.

The other day someone frm 95set was directed so openly to the '95set website
where a lot of interesting gist was going on' and we have repeatedly said this
shouldnt be the case. If we are operating under one umbrella, then let us be
one; these breakout sessions are doing their part in making the whole Alumni
ineffective. I am not saying diff sets or cliques of friends shouldnt get their
groove on or go about their biz jst how they pls, but at least let us knw u
exist or participate in those forums, so that when its time for action, we knw
where to go and look.

Every year the known alumnis like St Gregs, St Finbarrs, KC, CMS Boys etc call
one general assembly of oldboys and small to mighty turn up for the whole day
where they delibrate and agree the year's program. from there, the state or
sector officials begin to enforce and them they end up with a gala night! It is
in this regard that I am here challenging all state officials to call the first
general assembly of all Ex Commandoes next year and the venue for this one
should be in Jos, right in the school, preferably after the students leave the
compound. We may not all be in attendance, but the impact of such a meeting
will
go a long way to helping us collectively chart a course forward and in the
right
direction.

Let us not sit down here playing with PC's and BB's and iPads and imagine for
one second that we can solve all of Command's problems in one day - even the
century old Alumni's dont even get that adventurous, but little-by-little, one
day at a time, with everyone playing their part we can, and we will.

But come o, this matter of overgrown bush and tall grass is the one that's
baffling me. In my days as few as we were, we managed to level every strand of
grass on that compound! So my question is what do the students there do now?
And
if their field is overtaken by grass, then where do they exercise? I mean
really?

I'm just thinking aloud!!!

Subject: A MUST READ! Re: [Jos Commandos] The State of Command Jos

Hi everyone, I really appreciate everyone's view in this matter, but I'll
rather
say that we should not bring in the Nigerian mindset into this issue, seeing a
problem, talking about it but never doing anything but just talk. This's the
school that has added to all of us in some ways, now I think the same school
needs us now. Let's look past what some poeple have not done or do and let's do
something for our command Jos (atleast whatever we can do). So this's my
view, let us have some people who can get down there to acertian the damages,we
do th costing of what we can possibly do, then we levy ourselves and take
action. I bet as we take a move other support will begin go roll in.And point
of
correction this has nothing to do with children of the who's and who's that has
passed through our dear school, but our coperate combined force. Mudasiru
