>From Adam John (1986 Set, Tiger House) Letter 1 of 20, September 7, 2012 Dear Commando, HURRAY! THE INTERVENTION FUND IS DEAD. The CSS Jos Intervention Fund Project was conceived to help fix some of the rot in our Alma Mater, Command Secondary School, Jos. It was supposed to go live in this month of September 2012. I remember how excited Kofo and I were when the idea was being planned (Kofo Owojori is also 1986 Set and Chair of the UK-Ireland Chapter of COJOSA). We loved the project. We had high hopes that our fellow Jos Commandos will jump on the moving train and quickly make minced-meat of the challenge. And what a challenge it was: “Each Set is to raise 1 million naira.” How you do it is your business. Get together. Tax each other. Gather the money. Bring your 1 million within 6 months. We envisaged healthy competition between the different Sets as each tried to clinch the prize of being the first to raise One Million naira. Oh, the bragging rights! Oh, the feeling of accomplishment. We expected weekly updates. We expected clandestine meetings. We expected levies, taxes, charges, targets, and whatever means (hopefully legal) of generating monies to be flying from one Set meeting to another. But, we should have known better. This is COJOSA. WHAT WE DID The initial planning and strategy worked like a dream. There was energy. There was synergy. -Kofo and I put together a plan and distributed it everywhere Commandos could be found online. -Kofo and her Team in London put it on a website. -The Lagos Chapter sent Barka Benson Saleh (1986 Set) and Taiwo Babayeju (1984 Set) to CSS Jos and they got unprecedented access to the whole school.
