----------- P.M.B. 2250 ----------- A Series of 20 Letters espousing Ideas, Strategies and (atimes Bitter) Home Truths to Alumni of Command Secondary School Jos. From Adam John (1986 Set, Tiger House)
Letter 2 of 20, September 14, 2012 Dear Commando, WHO ELSE WANTS TO GO TO LONDON? I travelled to London in April and August 2012. Yes, it is a big deal. Yes, I am going to write about it. THAT, Adam-don-go-London-so-we-no-go-rest thought going through someone’s head right now is one of the problems of Commandos. Everyone is struggling in his little corner. Everyone’s achievements are through personal effort. Everyone wants to shine -alone. Everyone keeps his experiences to himself or herself. We are not sharing. We are not collaborating. We are not helping each other. I beg to differ. But, alas, I have started veering off-course. Let’s begin. WHO QUALIFIES TO GO TO LONDON? Well, if you are like me: A (poor) Civil Servant who has proof of a steady income and a family. You can raise 500 to 600k once in a while. You have never travelled abroad before (even Cotonou or Ghana). That’s it. You meet the qualification to visit the Queen of England (or at least visit her gate). LONDON 2013: HERE WE COME Let’s assume you plan to attend the annual ‘Family Fun in the Park’ in London, organised by COJOSA UK-Ireland, in July 2013. You are also attending alone. Your spouse and kids will stay home and follow you via Facebook, at this time. WHAT YOU NEED: -Get your International Passport (Officially it is around 8K but you may pay around 15K for one-day express service. Abuja prices.)
