This is truly sad. Onyekwelu was my  classmate and friend too and I last saw
him about 7yrs ago; always full of life, accomplished and such a gentleman. I
was truly shocked to read today of his passing, what a loss! It is truly sad.
I've had to take the rest of my day off work. May God grant his family the
fortitude to bear this loss.

Hm! Daniel, this piece you wrote is most touching, I never met him, but this
piece tells a lot about whom Onye was. With a heavy heart and sigh, I say may
his soul rest in perfect piece.

Lord grant me the strength I need to go thru today!

Onyekwelu practically arranged my whole wedding ceremony in PH, reception
venue, hotels, car hire, DJ, drinks, etc. At a point a felt guilty leaving
everything in his hands, but he warned me not to come to PH until my wedding
day.

We were set mates and his bunk in FHH was 2 away from mine but since 1989, we
have kept a very formidable partnership and try to see each other at least once
every year!

When I heard he was in intensive care unit, I feared the worst, God forgive me!
But u see, my friend Onyekwelu has to be the most restless person in this
world, he was too full of life and an unexplainable source of energy! I used to
ask him if he swallowed part of superman's kryptonite that fell to earth? It
was practically impossible to ask Onye to sit still let alone confine him to a
bed.

I was dreaming yrtrday and remember teasing him at his bedside and said, shebi
this your yansh go siddon one place now? I am not sure, but I think I heard him
say "ol'boy no vex but u know say I no fit lie down for this bed like this".
Woke up this morning and got the news. It wasn't a dream, he actually stopped
by to bid me goodbye.

Onyekwelu, my brother, my friend, . . . rest in perfect peace!

Cheers
Daniel.

Ok, jst spoke to the wife. She confirms he made it thru surgery and stable now.
But everyone should be in PRAYERS!!! His survival now is in God's hands to
complete and she is asking everyone to join her steadfastly.

He was involved in an accident btw enugu and PH and his car sumersulted
severally. I will save u the rest of the trauma describing what followed but
you have a good idea of what our brother and friend must have passed through.

Thanks everyone as we remember him in our prayers. He is in Lagos.

Cheers
Daniel.

Thanks Taju/everyone for responding asap.
I hv also gotten feedback from Debo and it appears he is in very critical
condition and for now it appears it may be best he remains incommunicado until
he gets better. All the same, can we explore reaching his wife? Who has her
contacts? Can the PH reach the house? Can the office people tell us what
hospital? I am sure they must be involved especially if he was on official duty
when he had the accident? Someone must have these details we seek surely??/

Cheers
Daniel.

Does this mean nobody has the wife's contact? It's only from her, a credible
information as to his whereabout and state of health would be known.
