It's been a day since you asked this question, and nobody has responded. I suspect that's because of the image file format. I'm pretty sure that it's a proprietary image format. According to this Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECW_%28file_format%29 , there's an SDK which is open source. It's likely to be possible to use that SDK to convert the images into bigger files in a more standard file format.
