Guess you are using some debian derivate and not debian and the upgrade
routines are not that well checked.

We're using Ubuntu.

P.S.: Is it possible to have a mirror of at least the .jar files
somewhere else ?

We had much more in the past, but the main site actually is very stable and fast usually, so the number of mirrors dropped permanently.
