Hi all, Suresh was asking whether it's right or wrong to share our "heart of hearts" to our elder or pastor... I think it's our freedom / relation ship with the elder decides whether we have to share everything to her/him or not. About their qualifications, I think spirituality we can't measure:) still we can choose our elder by looking her/his words and deeds towards fellow beings and God. I think measurement is possible only that much.... Jose was mentioning we could even choose a person even in the same age as our elder. My concept of elder is that he/she should be always little matured & aged person than me. The point is that from their life experience we can learn more.
Well, about your second question If she/ he revealed you secret to others what will do? ...If it happens so, it's clear that the Elder or Pastor you had selected was not the right one for you. Here I agree with Annie that before selecting our Elder or pastor we should have to pray. About counseling, now a days its common that before making an important decision one goes to meet a counsellor (gifted) who asks God's will for us. I think we have to pray ourselves and have to decide about our life rather than the counsellors . Sometimes its also happened that same person approaches different counsellors for the same problem and got different messages :) and it will add only fury to the poor person who goes for this types of counsellings. In my opinion - God have given us free mind & wisdom to think about ourselves and to find out the answers to our problems. We can depend on the Bible, Prayer, and other experienced person's opinion etc. Sure whatever decision we will take with the help of Holy Spirit will be good. Where there is Spirit there is Liberty :) Is it a healthy practice to share our personal things to other who have similar probelms.... Sharing always sooth the pains and doubles our joy! To a trustworthy person we can share. If that person is close to us and if you think that person help you to find out a way then you can share ....... Otherwise, what's the use of sharing your own problems to others?
