Yes, the YUI has become the de facto standard. There have also been some comparisons done with other compressors and YUI normally gives the cleanest and most reliable compressed scripts with the smallest size. YUI is good enough that I have actually debated porting the algorithms used in YUI into JavaScript (well at least the server variant I work with). Good potential for on the fly minification of js and css.
