I've just tested it with Chili 1.8 and all is ok.
Just a little thing: the show() / hide() functions work much slower than before and they have a 'nice' (quoted because not needed nor requested) transition effect, which is maybe responsible for the slow-down factor. hide() is a bit faster than show(), but still very noticeable.
