Hi, I faced the same and a host of other issues while using the jQuery datepicker in IE6. For example, if my IE6 browser has a setting to check for every visit to the page, the popup would take 2 seconds to load.
Ultimately, incorporating the advice found on the net, I reworked and used the jQuery date picker in a slightly different manner to circumvent the various issues and have consistency across the browsers.
