No you do not. See Sun's j2sdkee, specifically the document found at
java.sun.com/j2ee/j2sdkee/techdocs/guides/ejb/html/DevGuideTOC.html.
Section 2. Getting Started tells you about using deploytool which
comes with the j2sdkee to package EJBs for deployment. I have only
scratched the surface of testing this with JRun, but the simple
example presented in this document worked fine.
