JRun only uses the first 8 characters. This is documented in the Release
Notes in the JRun 3.0 Late Breaking News section.

Subject: JRun authentication problem

Hi,

I created the following user by executing the PropertyFileAuthentication
class.

user name : testmc1
password : testmc12

And JRun seems to accept any password starting with testmc12, for example it
accepts testmc1234. I am using form-based authentication with JRun 3.0 on
HP-UX 11.xx

Another observation is that if the password length is less than 8
characters, then the authentication works fine. But if it is equal or more,
then any password starting with the actual one is accepted !!

Thanks in advance,
Suresh
