Sahaya,
you asked>>> Why do you want to edit in both places?
Maybe I wasn't clear about the problem. First, manually edit web.xml to
include, let's say, a new security constraint. Next, go into the JMC and
change the session timeout to a new value and save the change. What happens
is web.xml is edited to reflect the new session timeout value you enetered
through the JMC and at the same time something causes the security
constraint you added before to vanish from the web.xml file.
Currently, we are in development, therefore it is feasible to only manually
edit the web.xml file. However, once this goes into production and a
customer support person gets a request from a client such as "Please
lengthen the session timeout parameter", I can't expect the support person
to manually update xml files without the risk of really messing things up.
Has anyone else had this problem??
Thanks,
Vic
