Justin,

Please use a different version of JDK for now. It is a bug we have recently
discovered and will provide a fix soon. It only happens to sample server on W2K
professional using J2SDK 1.4.0

Thanks,
John

Subject: Can't start Samples server JRun4 & Win2000

Hi all, the advice so far ...
(Please mail cc me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] as I'm on the digest..)

Yes I am able to do this. My Jrun home is c:\jrun

   > Make sure you have an entry in the PATH variable for <your JDK>\bin
   > directory. So, if the below path is correct, you would append this
to > your PATH variable: C:\Java\www.sun.com\j2re1.4.0_01\bin

Done..
D:\home>echo %PATH%
..
D:\Perl\bin\;D:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\FrameworkSDK\Bin\;
C:\java\www.sun.com\j2re1.4.0_01\bin;
..

 > Also, change the forward slashes to back slashes in the JAVA_HOME
 > variable. So I've set JAVA_HOME to "C:/Java/www.sun.com/j2re1.4.0_01"

Was Done (a little Linux/windows typing confusion) ...
D:\home>echo %JAVA_HOME%
C:\java\www.sun.com\j2re1.4.0_01

Still no joy, When I try to start the samples server I get this in the
dos cmd console

  C:\JRun4\bin\jrun.exe -nohup -start
  Starting Macromedia JRun 4 (Build 47304), samples server
  Server started, listening on port 9392, display level: 0 ...
 >Server started, listening on port 9292, display level: 0 ...
  Server started, listening on port 9192, display level: 0 ...
  Serv>>er started, listening on port 9692, display level: 0 ...

Any more ideas? Both the admin and default servers run fine.
