I'm on OS 10.3 and just downloaded JRun4 and ColdFusionMX trial. I've been able to get .cfm pages working by putting them in /applications/jrun4/servers/default/cfusion/CFIDE/testsite/test.cfm but have not been able to get them working in ANY other location.
You could try that location. Also, make sure you have expanded your cfusion.war file
I have been trying to get Apache talking to Jrun by using the 'wsconfig' but even though it saves the file properly I still get the same result as you, ie. trying to access any .cfm files outside the above folder just results in the browser displaying text only.
One thing to watch out for is that for some of the setting up you have to be logged in as root user. Other than that, I'm still struggling.
