I'm not familiar with the -config option. I'm looking at the documentation
at
http://livedocs.macromedia.com/jrun/4/JRun_Administrators_Guide/adminrole3.h
tm#1113191

There is no reason a tty instance (secure/ssh or telnet) would cause this
issue, so I don't think it's an ssh issue. Have you tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the product? That's probably a last resort, but I have
relatively little patience when something is supposed to be working
according to documentation and it isn't. That's just me.

Perhaps there is another variable in the mix...

Our command line is identical except that we use the -config option as well.

I have to do this with ssh as the machine is in a remote data center.

However, I just tried starting JRun over a telnet connection from another
server in that network. The logout worked fine. Do you know if this is an
ssh issue then, and whether there is a work-around?

thanks for your help
