Hello.
In the (physical) Fedora machine the X server is not
listening to the
TCP port - I'm guessing it's using the socket in /tmp. In the
virtual
machine running Ubuntu the X server is listening to the TCP
port 6010.
Using xhost doesn't seem to be of any help.

What do you mean "You can't do that" -- don't you have rsh or you try

if you don't have rsh, try ssh without x-forwarding:
phys> xhost +virt
phys> ssh -x virt
virt> xterm -d phys:0
Note the "-x" argument to ssh which will disable ssh's built-in
x-forwarding
