And who is to blame for that? clj is not a Google Group, it is a Usenet news group. The vast majority of the spam there is from entities using Google gmail accounts (i.e. Google itself). Most NNTP servers remove the spam so that those using a news reader don't see it. Google chooses not to so that those using it's web interface (Google Groups) see it all. Google has a "report spam" feature, but it seems to have no effect whatever on accounts that are clearly being used for nothing other than spam.
