"a design pattern is a general reusable solution to a commonly occurring problem in software design." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_pattern_(computer_science) from the same page you quoted. You can make up your own design patterns that solves a commonly reoccurring problem, like polluting the global namespace, what the pattern above solves. There are several other design patterns that are language specific, and not mentioned on the page above. Like ActionScript, C++, Python etc. have their own design patterns that solves issues that are common in those languages. -- Poetro -- To view archived discussions from the original JSMentors Mailman list: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ To search via a non-Google archive, visit here: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected]
