You can, however, install the 64-bit bersion over the 32-bit version. Just can't run the installer from Windows, so you'll have to boot from the CD.

No - I meant that you can run the 32-bit version in a 64-bit OS. If you
have a 64-bit PC, you can just install both in the same OS on the same
partition. But if you have a 32-bit OS, you can olnly use the 32-bit
version.

Hope that is clear.

Hi,
Are you really sure that you can start the 64 bit installation from within a
32 bit version of Windows?
When I try to do that it says its not a win32 program.

You can start the installation from within windows like installing any other
program. Choose the partition and confirm the installation then it will
restart and do the rest. After a half an hour or so just press windows u to
bring up narrator and your good to go.

Hi,
But if I don't have some sighted assistnce around you cannot specify what
partition to install onto and you cannot start the installation form the 32
bit version of Windows and specify it that way.

Hi,
Did you have to purchase the 64 bit verson of Sonar or is that
included with 8.5?
Also, do you know of any way to install Windows 7 64 bit with the help
of some answer file?
Many thanks,
Christian

Been running Windows 7 64bit here for quite a while. I have both the
32bit and 64bit version of Sonar installed side by side and that works
great.

Hi all,
I know that this is a little off topic, but I know that some of you on
this list are using Windows 7 64 bit, and I have a few questions.
Is it really worth upgrading from 32 bit do you notice any speed
differences?
Do you also need to purchase some 64 bit version of Sonar or does the
8.5 support 64 bit as well?
I have heared people switching back to 32 bit version of Windows due
to compability issues.
Any comments on this?
Many thanks,
Christian
