I now have everything working now - thanks for the advice everyone.
In addition to what may have been the most useful bit of advice - uninstall
and strip out everything to do with Java and start again, I also found that
ensuring the jsp1.0 directory is in root (C:\jsp1.0) helped. Also, adding
the dt.jar file to the CLASSPATH as well as the tools.jar, should enable all
of the examples to run.
