I think you can convince most app servers to run from within your IDE.
I've fired up JServ, JRun, ATG Dynamo, and WebLogic from within J++.
Given that J++ uses jview, not java.exe, it's probably even more
straightforward to get them running from inside Visual Age.
That said, I really like WebLogic's product. It's pretty no-frills in
that it doesn't have an IDE or a particular development philosophy. But I
found that suited my tastes just fine.
Now this assumes your intent is to debug your application running on your
local dev machine. if you want to use the remote debugging in Visual Age,
then I'm not sure -- I've never tried that.
