I had also faced the same problem initially. Please check if you performed
the following steps:
IBM WebSphere 3.0 trial version installation:
1. Install the web-server
2. Install the IBM specific JDK 1.1.7 downloadable from their site
3. add the jdk 1.1.7 lib directory in the CLASSPATH
4. Install Oracle or DB2
5. Login as system/manager and create EJSADMIN and EJB users (pass same as
the username)
6. Grant connect, resource, admin to the user schemas created
7. Stop the webserver, start oracle
8. Install IBM websphere 3.0
9. give al the database specific parameters prompted during installation
10. cancel the httpd.conf file if u are not using apache web server
11. Go to services and start the IBM websphere server
12. Run IBM websphere admin console
It should work....
Does anyone have any idea, when IBM is going to come up with a version of
IBM WebSphere that supports JDK 2.0 as there are lots of additional features
in 2.0 (security, performance, RMI, Serialization, JAR, JNI, JDBC-ODBC,
etc... enhancements. also better memory management and garbage collection)
Vik
Did you start the IBM WS AdminServer service first?

IBM websphere 3.0
Hi, all,
Has anyone successfully installed IBM Websphere 3.0 trial version?
After installation, when I tried to run the admin console, it complained
null typeAttributes.
Any idea? thanks in advance!
