Further to the JSP vs. ASP debate ( which was very
interesting...), does anyone have any comments on the comparison between JSP and
PHP?
I would consider myself pure JavaNuttm and would prefer to develop with JSP as I use Java
to develop every other tier of my n-tier applications, however I'm not so much
of a puritan that I ignore useful technologies when they arise.
My personal experiences with PHP tell me initially
that it's very easy to develop with ( and would be perfect if I wanted to pass
the presentation layer development to a good HTML coder instead of getting
involved with it myself ), but does that ease of development mean that it's
not up to the job in high-enterprise development?
Naturally, presentation layer documents are meant
to be light-weight, so could JSP (that is, using Java as the scripting language)
be a bit of an overkill? (THESE COMMENTS ARE MERELY MEANT TO STIR INTEREST AND
DON'T NECESSARILY REPRESENT MY VIEWS!)
If you have any comments on this, I would
appreciate them.
Thanks
