Speaking of Forte, is there any chance Forte will support "internal frames"
so that each window doesn't put a button on my Start menu on Windows
platforms? That is the only reason I don't use it right now. Ofcourse, it
would be nice if project management was a little easier. I really like the
way KAWA handles projects. You simply right-click on the project name, add
directories (of source) below it, set up a classpath (for compiling), and
set up the compiler options. Each project has these characteristics and I
find Forte a bit clumsy to use in this manner.
Being that it is such an open architecture, is there any chance of the two
above requests happening anytime soon? Or will it remain an SDI based
application. Infact..I don't even mind that the windows are not contained
inside the main frame, but the buttons on the START menu causes problems
when running other programs..I find I have to specifically look at each
button now to see what program it is before clicking on it.
It would be great to see JSP drag/drop editing in Forte, along with JavaBean
palatte that supports drag/drop beans to JSP pages with the ability to move
the properties of javabeans anywhere on a page for dynamic placement of
dynamic data. Lastly, tag-lib support on a palatte would be nice as well. I
think DreamWeaver supports this now..or is going to soon. I was told the
WebStudio package from WebGain will support this.
Any thoughts?
