Jose,
If you are getting an exception raised by Java, your
error should be on the Java side of the equation.
Oracle 8i database "Longs" are up to 2 gig, but you
have to get into the database column. What does Java
support for a long? What version of Oracle are you
using? What are you using on the Java side [front
end]?
If you are on 8i [I hope], you should investigate
LOB types.
