No. People like Sufi don't deserve a break. It's people like them that cause
thousands of people to have to wade through hundreds of off-topic messages
every week. If time is money, how much do you think all that wasted time
might be worth?

If all the questions on this list were specifically related to JSP, this
list would be much healthier than it is today. If nothing else, the people
who have abandoned the list as no longer worthwhile might still be here, and
there might be some interesting design discussions going on, instead of a
constant blizzard of guff with a few nuggets hiding in it. The average
reader would learn more from the average posting to the list.

If I want to read about JDBC, SQL, JavaScript or HTML, I'll look for a
suitable source of information. I won't just assume that there must be
someone out there who has the same overlap in interests as me, and assume
that the other thousands of people won't mind my butting in on their
conversations to ask my off-topic questions.

But perhaps that's just me. Perhaps the Sufi's of the world haven't heard of
common courtesy.
