Alas, *I* don't know enough about JSP to start a reference site and my plate
(like yours) is FULL trying to develop a web application in 3 languages
(VBScript/ASP/VB, JSP/Java, and XML/XSLT <groan/>).

I'm willing and able to sort through the off topic posts or posts that I'm
not interested in to get to the jewels in the rough that help me out on my
projects.

Okay. Let's assume this is true: jspin.com, jspinsider.com,
java.sun.com/products/jsp etc. are all flawed/poor/whatever.

Does anyone know JSP? Does anyone have an interest in seeing the JSP
community flourish?

If the same person can answer "yes," then great - correct the situation. I'm
sure you'd get lots of support from legions of adoring fans. I'd do it, but
I'm already doing so for a few other things, and I'm capped out; besides,
having already done it, I'm aware of what support the legions of adoring
fans give you.

So put up a site on geocities or whatever. Do something about it. Don't sit
back and accept constant spam on JSP-I just because it's there.
