If you were writing directly to me, you *could* always have used my email
address... :)
As far as what I meant, I was being constructive. Using JSP-only isn't
effective, unless you've some wierd axe to grind. (Oh, wait - I already said
that. Maybe it's offensive in some way and I don't know, because I'm
objective or something.)
And using Access for data access... just isn't a wise idea. Getting a JDBC
driver for it isn't ridiculously hard, I suppose, especially as a
marvelously insufficient one is provided with the JDK. (Maybe this
information is offensive, too - I can't tell. For some people, you tell them
that the ladder they're on is broken and they get hurt on the ladder's
behalf.)
As far as *how* to do it, or actual implementation strategies... that's
really up to you and your experience. Look up Webwork on
http://sourceforge.net, or Struts on http://jakarta.apache.org - both are
frameworks that are likely to be far beyond your experience level. This
advice isn't marvelously constructive, either, because you need to learn to
walk before you can run, but hey -- maybe people will stop bleating about it
now.
One option you have is to look up JDBC access from http://java.sun.com,
check out the java tutorial (http://javatutorial.com, IIRC), step through a
JSP tutorial. Take it slowly, and don't be afraid to think things out before
you implement them.
Remember that this is a technical field - it doesn't have much room for
touchy-feely, smarmy crap about how there is no right and wrong. $0.01 is
not the same as $0.012; if this bothers you, get over it and get it right.
