Smita,
To answer your question, "Is there a way for a JSP to download multiple
files with a single click to a hardcoded location on the client's
machine?" No there isn't.

As the previous responder mentioned, it would be a security
breach. Imagine if you could download an autoexec.bat file and a program
that contained a virus to the user's machine? The next time the user
booted the machine, assuming it was a M$ OS, you could infect the machine.
In the case where both of your machines are in a small intranet and you
were able to change the security policy on your user's JREs, you could then
open a huge security hole and allow an applet to write to the disk. The
applet could make a connection to a servlet and download the files from
there. DOING THIS WOULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AND ILL ADVISED.

Perhaps you can share with us the reason for this requirement?

Regards,

Richard
