Mike,
You can do it a few ways.
You can just set a username attribute in the session in jsp1. Jsp2 can then
retrieve the session attribute using session.getAttribute().
You can set the username as a query parameter. Username would then be
visible to the user in the url. ie <a href="jsp2.jsp?username=<%=
username%>"> the username would be a string variable that would
previously be assigned the value of request.getParameter("username")
