What?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, but the Community Edition of
Forte (or Sun One Studio, as it's now called) is free.

Also, I don't think that Sun "bought over" NetBeans, since it's a non-profit
ORGanization.

However, I believe that Forte is based on (or uses) the NetBeans "engine".
I don't know; haven't looked into it...and don't really care.

Anyway, John was looking for options and Forte is just one of many.
NetBeans is great too!

Good luck,

Patrick

P.S.,
Just checked the Early Access page and it looks like Forte 4 is no longer
there. I haven't used version 3.x; don't know how good it is.

Sun bought over netbeans (www.netbeans.org) and the licensed version for a
price is Java Forte'.

I use JBuilder now (not free), but the best free IDE I've used is Forte.

See http://wwws.sun.com/software/Developer-products/ffj/index.html

To get the latest version (4.x), you'll have to register (free) for the
Early Access program

va.sun.com/developer/earlyAccess/

Good luck.
