Have people checked out the new Web Matrix development tool? Someone pointed me at it last week and I just spent the last few hours playing with it. I have to admit it is very cool, and -- I'm still stunned by this -- free!
You can find more info and download it from: http://www.asp.net/webmatrix/ There is also an online tour at: http://www.asp.net/webmatrix/tour/getstarted/intro.aspx >From what I've found already, it provides WYSIWYG web page development (drag/drop ala VB or other client forms designers), Data Access development (build/create databases/tables/sprocs), Data Code Development (it has wizards to auto-generate data access code), and Mobile Development (target cell phones, etc). Frankly I was a .NET skeptic and firm Java bigot (haven't touched MS development stuff since '99) -- but this tool has me wondering. Have others tried it? What are your thoughts? There are a lot of people in my company who are reading up on ASP.NET and pushing it hard. I've been fighting them off successfully for the last few months -- but honestly I'm now wondering myself (especially now that ASP.NET supports Apache). Thoughts? - Bob _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com =========================================================================== To unsubscribe: mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body: "signoff JSP-INTEREST".
