Perhaps we should delegate them to a "Future version"? That way they
would stay open, but not show up in most lists.

recently you've commented some issues with the question whether we
get a
patch, otherwise we'd close this issue.
IMO we shouldn't do this, as long as it's a valid issue.
Why would you want to close them?
