JOB DESCRIPTION: =============== Sakonnet is seeking Software Engineers to work on its Technical Support team. The team's role is to ensure clients' productive use and the continuous, successful operation of a complex real-time trading application Responsibilities include monitoring multiple internal and client production server environments, providing remote customer and system support to clients, including rapid, expert response to user queries by phone and instant messaging. It is also expected that the Engineer initiate proposals for product fixes and improvements, liaise with development team on product issues and assist with testing and distribution of new releases and technical configurations. EXPECTED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: ================ The Software Engineer must possess high degree of facility with advanced computer applications and environments and experience with Java Development. Exposure to other software development tools is a plus (C++, Perl, Shell Script, Awk, Expect). The Engineer must have the ability to investigate and fix technical issues quickly (troubleshoot, analyze log files, bug fixing) and have clear written and verbal communication.
