Recently there was some request posted to the Trijug mailing list for ISP recommendation.
There aren't many good Java/JSP virtual accounts available out there. I just wanted to share my experience with one that was recommended by one TriJug user. I've had 5 accounts with CWI hosting (http://www.cwihosting.com) for over a year now. They seem quite good at first. You get 1.5 GB of disk, 35 Gb bandwidth and a private Resin JVM for $35 a month. However, my experience is that they load up tons of accounts on one server resulting in server loads of 8+ on a regular basis. Obviously my site has been extremely slow. Often it times out. Not only that but they have shut down several of my accounts with no notification on a whim. I always call and they say "oh sorry we made a mistake in billing. your site has been restored now". Also, one of my accounts was down for a full 36 hours while they tried to restore the server after it was hacked. They lie and deceive. After I received an email from the CTO claiming that one of my sites was overloading the server and that I had no option but to upgrade to a dedicated server I found several complaints online of folks who claim this is a common tactic of theirs to make more money. I monitored my site's load on the server and it was virtually nothing as I expected. My advice, stay away! They have been a HUGE waste of my time. I'm currently trying to convert all my accounts to supplehost.com as recommended by Erik Hatcher although I will miss all the Caucho Resin features not available by supplehost accounts.
