The other IDE that I have used a bit is NetBeans (www.netbeans.org).
Eclipse seems like a great tool though it appears to be more difficult to
setup.  I have heard it is worth it once you get Eclipse setup.  Netbeans is
probably quicker to get started.

  I'm not sure what you mean by linux based, but I know that you can run
Eclipse on Linux. You can download eclipse from www.eclipse.org.
