I am a newbie to JSF, too. My understanding is JSF can manipulate UI component and its state using JSP custom tag library. It's sort of fine-grained UI framework for letter 'V' in MVC model. Remember JSP is kind of hybrid language mixing Java code and HTML. JSF wants to provide a better separation of view layer and other layers.

I remember Struts has tag library also. So my question is: Could JSF be integrated into Struts and increase its capability of UI manipulation?

Thanks,

Hello All:

I'm a newbie to the JUG. I just read a description of JavaServer Faces on:
http://java.sun.com/j2ee/javaserverfaces/

It sounds like a Java version of ASP.NET. Is that an accurate assesment?

Tim

Forwarding a message from Andy Hunt with resources from his presentation last night.

Several of us are brainstorming on action items from last night
and will share with the group as things gel.

Feel free to pass this along to the mailing list, along with the
RTPJUG15 discount code for anyone who couldn't make it last night.

I enjoyed it, especially the chatting at the end. I hope everyone else
had a good time as well.

thanks,
