All,
There was discussion recently on the list about the use of JMS and some enthusiasm about the possibilities that messaging opens up for you. To help that person who was getting into JMS (and the rest of the list), I would like to recommend a really good book I just picked up that Bobby Woolf co-wrote with Gregor Hohpe, also with contributions from others including Conrad D'Cruz. It's called "Enterprise Integration Patterns: Designing, Building, and Deploying Messaging Solutions" (ISBN 0-321-20068-3). I just wanted to say that this book is definitely worth the investment if you are interested in learning the different ways that you can integrate applications and the pros and cons of different approaches. It provides good examples using JMS and .NET, and is not tied to any particular vendor (such as IBM, who I work for). If you would like the benefit of someone else's significant years of experience on application integration distilled into patterns, this is the book for you. Hope this helps someone!
