Is TriJUG getting something in exchange for the use of its mail list and meetings to promote the “No Fluff, Just Stuff” conference? Back in the heady days of the bubble we used to demand pay, and good pay, from sponsors who got limited advertising opportunities in exchange.

I appreciated David Geary's TriJUG talk in March. That was worth something, if we have started the practice of paying for well prepared talks. But I might have guessed that the promotion given to the “No Fluff, Just Stuff” conference during that March meeting evened the score. This continued advertising may be going overboard.
