Chapel Hill-Nelson Highway Research Triangle Park, North Carolina Abstract: An overview of how to secure Java-based web applications and infrastructure. This presentation addresses major web application vulnerabilities, and covers the OWASP top ten list http://www.owasp.org/. Filled with code examples, vulnerability demonstrations, and anecdotes, the presentation is highly interactive. About the Speaker: Martin was a Java programmer and architect during the e-commerce boom, then shifted into information security. He has 12 years of experience building case handling, e-commerce systems, and scientific tools in Java, employed at Lilly and Cisco Systems. In his role as a Security Architect, he helps design security into IT application deployments. Martin has particular interest in database, web application, and wireless network security. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), holds a Master of Engineering from NC State, and did his undergraduate work at Iowa State University.
